God is good all the time

THIS WEEK WE HAVE BEEN BUZY "DOING" CLINICS WITH VISITING MEDICAL PEOPLE. Do you believe in miracles. Our little My had not responded to medical treatment for her nose. We were very sad when we took her back to the specialist at Bangkok. Firstly a friend and her daughter gave a donation of 2000 baht to help this child, but money was not the problem. It was the growth of the tumor, now extending into her eye sockets and destroying the cartilege of her nose. We cried. Then the doctor said there was one last treatment method he could try. STERIODS. If she had negative response she could die from toxic shock. If she responded, he was not sure.... This week her growth has started to change, shrunk a little even. Praise God for hope. Praise God for the smiles of her parents. Praise God for His mercy.

Toolay was discharged from hospital last Sabbath afternoon, and he was crying for his father. So Sunday morning I packed up the visitors, some base medicines and all the children from Sangkhalaburi... We took Toolay home. But his parents looked at his wounded head and didn't want the responsibility of care. So a sad little boy came home to Bong Ti. PRAY FOR HIM.

I am currently visiting with my Mission College kids at Muak Lek. Junsri, Wichai, Wittya, YO, pornchai and Jawro are all fine, although it is difficult for some of them to work enough to pay their school fees. Most of them have faithful sponsors, but they do not always be faithful back. Their letter writing is not good. I hope they learn their lesson soon.

The drought has broken, so now we are experiencing some rainy weather to get the garden started. Praise God for the blessings.

God is good, but He did warn us about troubles?

I am exhausted, from hospital problems.... 2 weeks ago, Toolay had a skin scaly patch on his head , a minor fungal infection we thought. The local police school teacher has a good heart, but no medical training.... she liberally applied a balm from an old pot she had. He came home in tears. We washed his head clear, applied some antibiotic creams over the weekend. I was sure it was almost healed, so we sent him back to school on Monday. The DARLING lady reapplied the balm. By the time he arrived back home that night, he was shaking with pain. I rushed him to the hospital, where he still is after 2 weeks of treatment. He has daily washes, IV injections and many bandages on his head. He developed a skin rash and has enlarged lymph nodes at the sides of his neck. God is good though, a Sai Yok English teacher has faithfully visited him everyday and is sponsoring him treats to ease the pain.... Toolay is lapping up the attention.

While I am down here, two boys (Leeda and Quarlar) decided to make a Sunday lunch surprize visit to their sister at Bong Ti Bonn. They asked no one! When they got there, they found no one home. However they found a tasty lunch of bread buns set out on the kitchen table. They were unsure of the filling.... Quarlar didn't like it so he spat his out. They then started back to school. The sister came running just as Leeda started to feel ill..... She quickly told them her story.... some village dog had been sneaking into her kitchen and eating her food supply. So she got some bread buns, and dressed them with animal poison, ready for the mongrel dog...... but the boys got there first.

Our doctor on site got Leeda to vomit up some, and gave him charcoal tablets to eat before transfering them to Sai Yok. I got our guys to go find the poison bottle.... to find it was a powerful insectacide. We pumped his stomach, fed him copious quantities of charcoal and prayer.... the low time was in the early hours of the morning, but he pulled through, praise God. Ps 99:8 summed us up.... forgiven, punished but tuned into God again. Sometimes we need a little "hanging" to get His attantion.

Baby ups and downs

Happy Birthday Zac.... yes today Baby Zac celebrated his birthday with ice cream. Praise God that Mrs Udom gave me a fridge so that we could keep the cake frozen until afternoon tea with all the kids home. God is so good to Zac who stands (not still for long) straight and strong. However the devil strikes again at another baby... a little girl born on 16 December, with a stight mark on her nose. This was dismissed y the doctors as a birth mark. However the mark spread out to cross the whole nose, so grandmother brought her up for a second opinion.

After a quick trip to Kanchanaburi hospital, then a referral to Children's hospital in Bangkok, it is diagnosised as a capillary hergioma, a tumor which destroys the cartilage of the nose. By this week it has taken out the cartilage of her nose, with a gapping hole in her little face. The doctors are struggling to reduce the tumor. Please pray for her (Name= My). Her mother is very down, her father so young, so sad.

Tomorrow we take Baby Johann back to visit the brain specialist and the physiotherpy dept. He is strong, but his brain function is retarded. We hope he will be able to catch up some day. Currently he can sit up if assisted. He can stand, but his brain does not tell him how to move his legs, how to step. He can roll over and gives us many smiles. He has just cut his first teeth. He is still blind in both eyes, but he "talks" in response to us if we are on his left side.

We continue to have many visitors. It is a great way for the children to practice their English. Two lovely young ladies visited us from India, Paula and Lacey. The boys were particularly interested in practising their new language abilities.

This month we look forward to having Chuckie from Park Ridge Hospital with us again. God is so good to us with friends and family. Jezreel and his wife Sharon are with us, even if their house is not quite finished yet. We also have a parapalegic staying with us temporarily while we try to contact his family. His name is Mr Dumb.
