Celebrate

This week has been one of celebration. Firstly our boy "Lut", a buddhist boy of 23 years, was diagnosised as having an infection in his heart, expected life span of a month.... his lungs failed on Thursday night, so I rushed with Mowai to his bedside... he was on a respirator and heart monitor... but he spat out the mouth guard, and hoarsely spoke.... he wanted like we had learnt in worship... he wanted to see God in heaven. We prayed, he cried and smiled around the mouthpiece.... he gave his heart, in its brokeness, to Jesus. He went to sleep, so I returned home to pray with the kids. On saturday, Lukai suggested that we baptize him in the bathroom attached to the ward. When we got to the hospital, he was already in a coma. He slipped peacefully out of this life as the sun set on the Sabbath. The kids and I made him a coffin, funeral and celebrated the fact of his brief encounter with God... He only had such a brief time with us, but it was no accidental meeting. God can do, in a moment what we take a lifetime to do.... God can break hearts into true love.
Then last evening a bunch of students and I drove to Bangkok to meet the 11.45pm flight from USA.... Our first student missionary has ARRIVED. Welcome Arthur, his family and friend who are supporting him in prayer. God has great plans for us to be involved in. Its a priviledge to serve a generous God.

Normal weeks

God is such a peaceful person, and I have enjoyed His peace this week. It was mothers Day in Thailand. We were invited to each of the kids schools to be presented with flowers. At the Dorchordor school, the 40 kids all were on their knees in front of me.... Canagee was crying, saying thank you for giving me another chance... all the others joined in, a wet one. On Friday Salatoo returned to his family as his mother has a new husband and can take care of him herself now. (Minus 1) Then Tha Coo's father took a turn for the worse, so the younger ones came to stay (Plus 1). We also have a new young man with a serious illness given to us by the hospital (Plus 1). So a net gain of 1. A peaceful week!!

For mother's day, we went to Sai Yok, on the train to the waterfalls and to eat lunch in the rain. We came home singing, wet and dirty but happy. Many of the kids who have parents went home for the long weekend, so it was only 32 kids that day. However most kids came back for church on Saturday. The full quota are back now.

Zac is doing great, full of talk and play. Little Johann is the same happy little guy, clapping his hands. (A bit of a hit and miss activity). We have the new little one, Joe-Kwa-Kwa, who is settling in well, as Zac's best friend.

I look forward to rainy season ending as have you ever thought of trying to dry clothing for 71 people??
