God uses us, via the police!
Today was just a normal morning.... early worship, a couple of kids lining up for sickness checks, requiring hospital treatment, my neck lymph nodes causing a bit of a problem, and then there is the shopping needs. So off we set me and my group of sickies and Mowai the translator. Only Zac had ID, but only a short trip I thought.
After we finished the shopping and hospital, we had one referral to Kanachanaburi Hospital. I was not thinking too well - I had had a jab of local, to remove a sample of my lymph node, but I decided to take all the kids to visit Cher Tha Pwee. We were half way to Kanchanaburi when there ahead we could see a large road block.... PRAY FAST.... sure enough they asked two questions into the back of the truck, and the new girls could not respond in Thai. We were directed to the side of the road, the kids with no ID hauled out into a line up. I could do nothing. They asked for my ID and drivers licence. Again in Thai a senior policeman asked where we were going.... "bye Pee-ah-ban-Phalhom" was my reply in broken Thai... They understood I was enroute to the hospital... bandage on my neck, dressings on the face of Porsue, bags of medicine and food in the car. Muwai as cool as a cucumber told them that we had done the shopping in Sai Yok, then had to go to the bigger hospital. They talked with other police. I thought they were coming back to my side of the car to ask for money. But their question was.... can you take another two to the hospital as well, please? I was happy to help others. So we drove away free, or so we thought.
We were nearly to the hospital when a policeman on the motor bike drove along side, motioning for me to pull over. "Oh no, I thought, I now have two more illegals in the back". However when he went to the back, these two ladies had a letter from the first police station, giving them the freedom of passage. "Sorry," said the policeman and "Praise God" we replied.
We safely delivered the two ladies to the hospital and went up to see Cher Tha Pwee. I asked the new girls what they thought. Nam Tip quickly intervened, "I tell them already, that when we travel with Momo we are really travelling with God. No worry Momo".
However the news from the doctors at Phalhom was not good. In preparation for surgery, the doctors gave Cher Tha Pwee a blood transfusion. However this resulted in high blood pressure and a problem with his vision. Hence no surgery at this time. He is tired of the hospital, tired of being tired and now has big headaches. He has had a rough life, but still tries to smile.
