Char Tha Pwe

While I was away and since Dong has been away visiting family, Cher Tha Pwee had decided that he didn’t need to take medicine. He had Thalaseemia Major, resulting in surgery to remove his spleen. This week he started with high fevers and a pasty look.
On Thursday night, I decided to take him to the hospital. My volunteers, Josh, Rochelle and Peter took him in, admitted and ready to test. He has since developed a sore throat, and continues with high fevers.
It appears he has a pneumococcal infection requiring antibiotics and his anemia levels are critical, now requiring a blood transfusion. Please pray for this little guy. He has been so looking forward to starting school in May. We intend on him recieving a vaccine against this infection as soon as he is well enough to undergo the jab. Josh has already donated the funds for this.
In the meantime, Peter has continued to build the babies playground with a sandpit and a small seesaw. Yesterday’s storm brought down the scaffolding for the shade cloth, so now we understand the strength and limitations of bamboo, eh Peter!
