The Team

MomoCat May 22nd, 2007

Here I am in USA, in preparation for the Carolina Conference Camp meeting starting Sunday. Last night was one of memories as a group of friends gathered together for dinner and memories…..

The first medical team to visit Bamboo School shared thoughts, prayer and love over a dinner held at Jan’s house. Laughter and tears were shared; plans were made for a future travel to the school and hugs of love showered on all.

The memories of how far we have come, how much God has done and the growth of the children made me very humble.  Some of the painful memories were erased, inhindsight learning and plain powerful, Godly love was evident.  I have been so blessed, and so have the kids. I saw the love, tears and joy etched in each face of the sponsors of the kids.  We shared the heartaches of seeing kids go their own way.  I am so proud, yet so humbled by the love these American families have for my KIds.  Thank you for the years of support, and I am not talking about money.

Today I will spend trying to catch the rest of the team members who have supported us, to show them the difference in a child that their love has made.

Chai is now working and educating himself through a Thailand King’s project.  For 70 baht per year, he gets his accomodation, education and food.  Thank you to His Royal Highness, to Chai’s sponsor, Janice and to the Most High King of all for making this possible.

Lukai and Kum enter their final High School year, with confidence and security. The unfailing support of Ron (in Africa) and Brent and Laurie (in USA) has given both boys a determination to succeed in this world.

Last week I joined with the mother of Yo (Pilikee) to celebrate his graduation from Mission College, with his Bachelor of Business. We were honored by the guest presenter Her Royal Highness, Princess of Thailand, presenting his degree papers.

I was greeted by Ruthie and Ellen at the airport with flowers and gifts… I feel warm and much loved, but this is not home…. my heart is still in the mountains of Thailand with my kids and my support team of Ben, Colin and Ruth, Heather and Allan taking care of those close to my heart.

It’s better to give than to recieve

This week has been a busy one… No One can out give God:

Firstly through Nathan Quick and our student translators, we have been given an opportunity to support some new refugee families still on the Burma side, fleeing from the fighting from the military junta.  Ninety seven families are barely surviving on gifted rice and supplies.

We had excess medicines we could send (near to expiry dates).  I felt so humbled as we gave 2 boxes of supplies, and God already had a cheque in the mail… yesterday I received one thousand USA dollars.  More than double the estimated, but donated medicines.

We also went down to donate blood for a very sick pregnant girl… Her blood type was matched by Muwai, Kum, Ice Crena and Ben (our US volunteer).  I was busy with Cher tha Pwee, so I sent Somsee to take care of Ben (in case he needed a translator).  As they walked up toward the ward, Ben said,”I’m going to faint.”  Muwai replied, “Stop joking around, man.”  But Ben wasn’t joking.  A big guy falls hard and fast.  Ice Crena tried to catch him as he went down, but she is so small, she only caught his knees.  His head took out to louver windows as he went.  He awoke surrounded by anxious, but beautiful nurses, and Momo Cat worried about what to tell his mother!!!  Low blood sugar and worry about needles caused a temporary black out.

The young woman has her blood replenished and we can joke around with Ben…. “Fancy falling for all those nurses!”
