This working for God is something else! Last week we were in preparation for the building team coming from Chulalorkorn University… it came to Sunday night, and I rushed Lukai and our friend Ben, to Sai yok to catch the bus, intending to collect some funds, purchase fruit for the incoming visitors, and to visit Bilay and MOremorechore at the hospital.. We made it to the bus! When I went to the ATM to get funds, the problem started!!  Firstly the ATM was “off line”.  So I visited Bilay and gave him my last 80 baht for food. Then back to the ATM…. There was a commotion behind me … a car pulled in, and this lady spoke thai rapidly, climbed into my car and motioned that she was going home with me?? My thai ears failed to understand her message!
She directed me to her beautiful home overlooking the river. She then rang her son, who translated that she had heard about Bamboo School and she wanted to donate some fruit and funds for us!! God knew her, I didn’t!
Now 44 visiting students are experiencing life on the edge of the jungle… cooking for themselves and bathing in the river!! I will transport a patient to the Children’s hospital tomorrow and then meet a family of builders who fly in tomorrow night! I think I am having the day off!! driving in Bangkok! Praise God for maturity of Leslie and Somsee, the support of past volunteers and for all the good things that come from God.
PS. the birthday was different, with kids dressed up as a medical team… cute nurses and babies in scrubs!Â
